Connect in the North works to improve services and
opportunities for people with learning difficulties.
We say that –

	People with learning difficulties must have the chance to stick up for themselves
	People with learning difficulties must have the same opportunities as non-disabled people
	People with learning difficulties must be able to get the support they need to have the same opportunities as everyone else.
	People with learning difficulties must be able to plan and change services It is important that people are in control of their own lives and are involved in running organisations. We want to support other people with learning difficulties to stick up for themselves.
	Everyone must be treated with respect Services must be fair to everyone Everyone has a responsibility to tackle discrimination
